More and more, recognition by ASHRAE, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and others have supported what we’ve known all along – that quiet operation is good for more than just sound sensitive applications. CES Group companies have a long tradition of providing quiet operation as a fundamental benefit of our HVAC products and systems.
High performance HVAC designs take acoustics into account – from product and system design to installation. To verify that the acoustic performance of our product designs will meet the requirements your applications, CES Group built its own AMCA 300 accredited sound lab facility for HVAC products. Our lab provides a wide range of unique services to customers and vendors of each CES Group company, including acoustic modeling, witnessed production testing, and robust performance and diagnostic analysis. The lab is also the site of rigorous, ongoing R&D testing designed to continually enhance and improve the entire product line of each CES Group company.
Among the technologies that contribute to quiet operation across all CES Group company product lines is FANWALL TECHONLOGY. Innovated by HUNTAIR®, a CES Group company, FANWALL® systems use multiple, smaller fans and motors to deliver airflow in an air handling application, often providing a 16 to 18 dB reduction in sound power in lower octave bands versus conventional fan systems. Using a FANWALL system can help avoid the cost, unit length increase, and the resulting pressure drop and energy penalty associated with adding attenuator devices required to achieve comparable results with a conventional system.
