Air Handler with FANWALL TECHNOLOGY
®
The first LEED
®
Platinum certified hospital installation in the world.
500,000 sq. ft. facility opened in 2007.
12,000 cfm air handler unit (AHU) supplies MRI operating suite.
Unit has a four fan array for supply and return air.
Unit has built-in 3,000 cfm backup capacity.
Compact AHU with FANWALL prevents need for second redundant air handler and saves hospital real estate.

Water Source Heat Pumps
The largest geothermal system in the world.
18 Governair custom air handlers with vestibules and factory installed controls.
The building’s massive geothermal heat exchanger utilizes 275,000 feet of 2 inch heat transferring pipe incorporating heat wheels and 540 Mammoth water-to-air heat pumps and 66 water-to-water heat pump.
This next generation HVAC system is coupled with a 17 foot deep, 15 acre man-made geoexchange lake.
The total system provides an annual energy savings of over $1,000,000.

Mammoth Penthouse Systems
A 156,000 ft
2
homeless rescue mission capable of housing up to 1,000 people.
Constructed in 2007 using green design principles for LEED Silver certification.
Goal was to minimize space for the HVAC plant while employing energy saving and sustainable technologies.
The solution was a 236-ton roof mounted Mammoth Penthouse system delivering 70,000 CFM @ 7.5” TPS along with solar panels for domestic hot water, a Green roof, natural lighting and more.
The Penthouse system features evaporative-cooled condensers and a quiet, efficient and reliable FANWALL
®
system for the supply fan.

Air Handlers with FANWALL TECHNOLOGY
®
57,000 ft
2
healthcare building wanted redundancy in fan capability for air handlers serving their critical surgical area
The FANWALL array, 14,000 CFM at 7.5" TSP, provides abundant supply air at variable temperatures down to 60ºF and below and the desired redundancy.
Lower sound levels and improved airflow through coils and filters.

Air Handlers with FANWALL TECHNOLOGY
HUNTAIR retrofitted existing vane aexial system that supported 90% of the hospital with a FANWALL
system that now supplies 100% of the CFM requirement for the hospital.
Retrofit was accomplished without shutting down a single fan system and without costly demolition.
Retrofit resulted in a 112 amp reduction and approximately $75,000 a year in energy savings.
St. Luke's Hospital - Aberdeen, SD
HUNTAIR Air Handlers with FANWALL TECHNOLOGY
A FANWALL system replaced a single fan, air handler with no backup that was housed in a hard to reach 2nd story mechanical room in a critical care area care area.
The retrofit took place over one weekend.
The four FANWALL cubes were easily transported through the narrow hallways, up the elevator and assembled into the existing panels and frame, avoiding costly demolition and downtime.

Temtrol Air Handlers
Thirteen air handlers designed to comply with the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Southern Building Code and approved by the Miami-Dade County Product Control Division.
Design criteria included the following minimum standards:
DCBCCD PA 201-94 Large and Small Missile Impact
PA 202-94 Air and Water Infiltration
PA 202-94 Static Air Pressure Test (Design Load +/- 100 psf)
PA 203-94 Fatigue Loading Test (Design Load +/- 100 psf)

Air Handler Systems with Knockdown Design and FANWALL TECHNOLOGY
Required an air handler retrofit solution that avoided major disruptions to patients and staff in surgery area.
Critical design needs included a highly reliable airflow supply, an AHU design that could be broken apart and moved into an interior room and an AHU construction that prevented thermal bridging.
Solution was a Ventrol custom-engineered knock-down AHU design with a thermal break construction using hybrid foam insulation and a FANWALL system.
Thermal break construction prevents surface condensation.
FANWALL system consists of 9 fans, with 3 as backup delivering a total 31,800 CFM. When all 9 fans are running, system delivers 38,000 CFM at 12 inches static.

St. Lukes Northland Hospital, Kansas City, MO
Temtrol Air Handlers
During the past 25 years, Temtrol custom air handlers have been used for nearly all of St. Lukes' extensive expansion and renovation efforts.
Limited accessibility to existing units does not allow a fully assembled air handler be dropped into place when a replacement is required.
De-mountable welded frame construction provides a high quality, modular approach for replacement units.
Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, KS
Temtrol Air Handlers
A Critical Access Hospital rebuilt after a massive twister in 2004.
The rebuilt hospital is design for high energy efficiency, sustainability and the use of recycled materials. The elements are intended to make Kiowa County Memorial Hospital the first LEED
®
platinum-rated Critical Access Hospital in the nation.
The cutting-edge solution for HVAC technology includes nine Temtrol rooftop air handling units, designed and Miami Dade certified for a category 5 hurricane.
The BAS system includes extensive parameter selection which simplifies management of BAS application for energy efficiency and closed loop control.
Columbia Hospital, West Palm Beach, FL
Governair Custom Packaged Air Handlers
The units feature louvers on all inlet and exhaust openings that are approved to the Miami-Dade category 5 hurricane rating.
The system also features a condenser section with a FANWALL system that solves certain critical design issues like high condenser static and load shedding, while delivering an even flow, uniform piston of air across the condenser.
Coupled with a digital scroll powered lead circuit to govern load sharing and a heat wheel for energy recovery, this 30 ton custom system is unlike any other package in the field today.
